چکیده

Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Nd: YAG laser posterior capsulotomy (YAG PC) on best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central macular thickness (CMT), intraocular pressure (IOP), and refraction in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Material Methods: retrospective included who underwent PC due capsular opacification (PCO). BCVA, examination results, IOP, CMT were evaluated. All examined before, one day, month after treatment. Results: The 56 eyes from 48 diabetic (diabetic group, Group 1) 61 50 nondiabetic (nondiabetic 2). In 1, a significant increase was observed between pre-treatment BCVA first-day first-month BCVAs. Similarly, first day compared CMT. On other hand, 2 However, no Conclusion: Although has increased DM PC, applied for PCO treatment, this did not affect recovery.

Intraocular pressure changes after Nd-YAG laser capsulotomy.

BACKGROUND 28-43% of the patients develop posterior capsular thickening after extra capsular cataract surgery. Nd-YAG laser capsulatomy is a method of choice to treat this complication. METHOD We conducted a prospective clinical, randomized comparative study to evaluate the post YAG laser IOP rise in 54 patients at Ayub Teaching Hospital Complex. RESULT There were 43% male and 57% female pa...

Purpose. The aim of this study is to examine the influence of capsulotomy size on, spherical equivalent (SE), intraocular pressure (IOP), and macular thickness. Materials and Methods. Sixty-eight patients were examined preoperatively and 1, 4, and 12 weeks after Nd:YAG capsulotomy. Patients were divided into two groups based on the postoperative capsulotomy size. Changes in SE, IOP, and macular...

Refractive Error and Anterior Segment Parametric Changes in Patients with Posterior Capsular Opacification after Nd: YAG Laser Posterior Capsulotomy

Background and Objective: Cataract is one of the most common causes of blindness in the world, and posterior capsular opacification (PCO) is the most common complication after cataract surgery. Nd: YAG laser posterior capsulotomy is a standard method for the treatment of PCO. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Yas laser capsulotomy on anterior segment parameters and lenticu...

Bleb failure and intraocular pressure rise following Nd: Yag laser capsulotomy

BACKGROUND To report the negative effect of Nd: Yag (Neodymium-doped: Yttrium Aluminium Garnet) laser capsulotomy on the intraocular pressure (IOP) and the trabeculectomy bleb integrity, in a small series of eyes, both trabeculectomised and pseudophakic, following the laser application for the management of posterior capsular opacification (PCO). METHODS This is a retrospective, non-comparati...

Prophylactic use of acetazolamide to prevent intraocular pressure elevation following Nd-YAG laser posterior capsulotomy.

Fifty four eyes of 54 patients undergoing Nd-YAG laser posterior capsulotomy were randomly assigned to pretreatment with either 125 mg of oral acetazolamide (group A) or placebo (group B). During the first 3 hours following capsulotomy, an intraocular pressure (IOP) rise of at least 10 mm Hg was recorded in eight of the 26 eyes of group B (30.8%) and in none of the 28 eyes of group A (p < 0.01)...
